Trunk space syndrome

The sub-shoulder syndrome is characterized by shoulder pain, especially when lying on the affected side and raising the arm over the head. This disease is most often complained by people over 40, as well as those who ignored the initial symptoms and led to a state in which they are unable to function normally.  Treatment of sub-brachial tightness requires the administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as well as rehabilitation.

Arthritis

The cause of shoulder pain may be inflammation in the joint, as in diseases such as psoriatic arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Complications after other disease states. Shoulder pain can also be a complication of pulmonary tuberculosis or myocardial infarction. In most cases, it affects the left shoulder (as much as 90%).

Pain in the shoulder area following an abdominal injury may indicate internal hemorrhage. As a result of the impact on the diaphragm, the pain is transferred through the common nerve fibers to the area of the shoulder tip. In this case, a visit to the doctor is necessary.

Painful shoulder syndrome – symptoms, exercise, treatment

Painful shoulder syndrome (PSB) is a condition that causes severe shoulder pain, especially in certain hand positions. It is a disease that most often affects people aged 45-60. In young people, it usually occurs as a result of injuries.

In order to choose the appropriate treatment, it is necessary to contact a doctor who will select the appropriate treatment method. Painful shoulder syndrome (ZBB) is a general term for a range of shoulder joint diseases that manifest themselves in a similar way.

Painful shoulder syndrome – causes

ZBB may be the result of:

  • retrograde synovial bursitis,
  • inflammation or rupture of the tendons (and their attachments) that are part of the shoulder joint,
  • damage to the biceps muscle (biceps) or other muscles surrounding the shoulder joint (e.g. the supraspinatus),
  • the presence of calcium deposits in the tendons of the muscles that make movements in the shoulder joint.

ZBB is primarily characterized by pain, sometimes with swelling. Shoulder movements are difficult or even impossible to perform. Painful shoulder syndrome most often affects people between the ages of 45 and 60.

Painful shoulder syndrome is the result of premature wear of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, synovial bursae) in the shoulder area. This can happen as a result of:

  • trauma,
  • long-term lack of exercise in the shoulder,
  • chronic disease (RA, PsA, gout).

The damaged parts of the joint stop working properly, which interferes with the functioning of the shoulder as a whole and, as a result, leads to the development of the symptoms listed in the Symptoms of the disease section.

Regardless of the mechanism by which the painful shoulder syndrome develops, the effect is usually the same – pain and restriction of movement in the shoulder joint. Untreated shoulder pain results in the diseased limb assuming the following position – it is lowered, bent at the elbow joint, brought to the chest, and the hand is turned inward. In this position, the shoulder joint often becomes stiff, which can then result in muscle atrophy in the shoulder and the appearance of constant pain radiating to the shoulder blade and neck.
